The Kiss of Death

Every person has some "kiss of death" scenario that will kill any relationship or possible relationship they are in which will result in essentially the death of any kissing that might have been going to happen. I, however, have many such things. For the purpose of this blog I will list my two major things.

1. Going to Chili's. For whatever reason that restaurant is cursed for me. I have gone there with roughly 6 boys who I was interested in and no matter how much I strive to avoid things fizzling they invariably do. Maybe it is that their chips and salsa are just okay. Maybe it is that it is always crowded. Maybe it is the tiled tables that make the table uneven. I do not really know. But whatever it is...it happens and it is totally legit. An example: I went to Chili's with a group of friends (which included the fellow I liked). I did not want to go there. This was not my first Chili's venture and I knew what would happen with this boy if we went. I voiced my concerns to the ladies around me. I was rebuffed. We went there. I spent the rest of the evening getting text messages from my friends pointing out that poor young mans flaws and also suggesting his interest in another young lady. Within 2 weeks, my interest in that young man had died.

2. Going rollerskating. There is a particular roller rink I used to frequent with my friends as a young girl. The curse of the rink began in fifth grade when a certain young man was supposed to be my escort for the "couples skate." Once we arrived the young man refused and I spent the evening weeping in a corner. Since that fateful night I have gone rollerskating at that same rink and every time the person I was interested in who went ended up disappointing me or making me cry or breaking my heart. Its really a fun place to go though. So make sure you grab your skates.

So really if some young man wants to really mess me up all he'd have to do would be take me to Chili's and go rollerskating with me afterward.

Incidentally, I went rollerskating this weekend so just get yourself ready for some glib blogs in the next couple of weeks once the skating curse takes hold.

I have places like that too! Didn't realize it until I read this though. Just replace 'Chilis' with 'Applebees', and 'roller-rink' with 'war-movie-night'. There are some places that guarantee a great friendship too though, such as mini-golf and Cold Stone ice cream. :)
